1st Year of College

5/3/99 - Well, my first year of College is almost over, and I thought I'd write something on just how fast the time has gone by. It seems like just a few weeks ago I was leaving the house for college, to start my new life semi-independent of my parents. Everyone goes through this time of transition, and honestly, I thought it would be more difficult.

Now that the first year is over, and I'm going back. I've changed somewhat from the person I was in high school. I'm more outgoing, independent, and self reliant. I wonder if I'll turn back into "High School Luke" when I go back? I doubt it, but the environment will be different, and I'll probably just have to adapt, much like I did when I got here to A&M.

On the subject of A&M, I guess I should declare right now, outright, that I'm not really an Aggie. I go to school here, but I'm not real into it like some people might assume. I'm not big into the traditions that they have here, in fact some of them seem really silly to me. This is not to say I don't respect the traditions, or respect the people that are real big into the school. It's just not for me. I will say that I really like the school, for the atmosphere, and for the student body, and couldn't think of a nicer place to get a good education.

Well, I guess that wraps it all up.
